Large areas of China, particularly the Ningxia region, are being dramatically transformed as row upon row of vines are planted.
This area is high altitude and arid. Rainfall is low - 200 mm a year.
The soil is free draining and water is primarily sourced from an irrigation scheme diverted from the Yellow River.
Aquaflex ensures adequate soil moisture levels for vine growth are maintained.
This area reaches above 40 degrees celsuis in summer, however the winter temperatures drop to -20 degrees celsuis. Prior to winter, the vines are buried to protect the plant and foliage from the cold temperatures.
